@07:27That was fascinating and powerful. I love your art, and also the way that you were able to keep that fine-art rough charcoal drawing feel while changing it and redoing it to create the next frames. It's very powerful.
One other thing I liked about it is that it's so nonverbal, the sound effects carry the story along without the need for captions.
@07:27Coolness! Thank you for telling me that. It's an amazing piece, and I've often thought about doing one art film once in my life -- but I am so not ready for it. Your drawings are so simple and powerful and the sound track really makes it work. The motion of the hooded figure as she goes through everything in the film is subtle and artistic, that was something I liked a lot more than conventional animation given everything else in it. This was like watching a sketch in a museum exhibit come to life.
It seemed to sum up everything in the industrial era so well, it was just vague enough to be a portrait of a century rather than one nationality or its atrocities. Beautiful work.
Yours was the only film in the list that caught my eye enough that I wanted to watch it, too, thought I'd tell you that.
@07:27Thank you. I went back and enjoyed all three other films -- you are brilliant, and I hope you will also enter these films in some of the film festivals I read about or hear about all the time. I was able to see a lot of art films and go to film festivals in the 1980s and enjoyed them a lot, but I haven't been in a position to do that for many years. These would stand up with anything I've seen.
@07:27I like this kind of animation, there's something appealing that 3D animation don't have,
The idea is very sad, and showed it very well,
The dark colours give strengt to this movie, and it is very powerful and touching,
That's a very good work.
you've got a really intriguing mix of imagery there. from what i can tell, you did a cool job especially with the sound sync and movement - in the sense that the whole piece has this great rhythm that works well with the tone. nice.
